AMC 10
- What it is: A national high-school mathematics contest assessing problem-solving across algebra, geometry, number theory, and combinatorics. Intended for students in grades 10 and below (typically grades 9–10; advanced 7th–8th graders may also participate).
- Duration & questions: 25 multiple-choice questions in 75 minutes. No calculators allowed.
- How to prepare: Practice past AMC 10 papers with light timing, study official solutions, and strengthen core topics (algebra; Euclidean and coordinate geometry; number theory; combinatorics) with emphasis on strategy, estimation, and careful reading.
- Blue Ridge Boost in-person classes: Blue Ridge Boost offers in-person preparation classes focused on AMC-style problem-solving, pacing, and test strategies, with guided solution discussions and take-home problem sets.
- AMC resources: Use official past contests and solutions from the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), plus reputable problem books and online archives aligned to AMC 10 topics and style.
